NOT-FOR-PROFIT SERVICESOverviewAt Dermody, Burke & Brown, our work with Not-for-Profit clients isn't a sideline - it is a significant portion of our practice. In our 50+ years, DB&B has worked with more than 200 NFPs. Our highly experienced team is dedicated to not-for-profit engagements. We are therefore very well-versed in the day-to-day issues that most NFPs face and can offer real solutions. And should an unusual issue arise, DB&B's standing in the PKF Not-for-Profit Committee allows our team to tap into the wealth of knowledge of other top NFP accounting practices around the world. Because DB&B has a deep base of knowledge, experience and professional contacts, we can offer what few firms can: proactive solutions. We routinely give our clients new ideas and suggestions for improving their operational efficiency and effectiveness. For example, every audit engagement culminates in a "Letter of Observations and Recommendations" that: (1) highlights relevant trends and "best practices" in the client's niche; (2) offers pertinent observations regarding the client's practices; and (3) makes suggestions for improvement. We also regularly assist our NFP clients with board presentations, including an in-depth review of the audit and a summary of our findings and other observations and recommendations. To us, our clients are far more than clients: they are our partners. Therefore, we strive to keep them apprised of best practices, industry trends and developments, and changes in standards and regulations through our niche-specific seminars, "Thought Leadership" emails, and our Nonprofit Insights newsletters. And to ensure that it is a two-way conversation, our partners reach out to our clients often, so that we can understand the specific challenges they face and how DB&B can be of most help.
