Beyond the Numbers: An Update from our CEO

May 29, 2020 - To say the last few months have been challenging for all of you is an understatement.  Many lives and businesses have been turned upside down.  We are proud of how our clients have stayed strong and in some cases, adjusted their business models for success during these tough times.

Some of you have been able to stay operational by working remotely and others are planning their way back.  As you begin to emerge and plan for the future, DB&B will continue to be here to advise and support you and your businesses as you gain momentum.  We are hoping you all will be stronger in the long run.

A strong financial backbone and an understanding of the financial pressure points that can help accelerate your business are imperative.

This is a time for all businesses to step back and think about what they really want or need.  You can use it as an opportunity to reinvent your business model. This might include thinking about steps toward right sizing your work force and workspace or updating your technology. Mergers or acquisitions may be on the table for some businesses that are better positioned for success under this changed environment. We are able to assist clients whether they are on the buying end or selling end given our experience with succession planning.

Our professionals are consistently crafting content relative to recent guidance to help keep you and your business informed and positioned for a stronger tomorrow.  In the May issue of our Tax Newsletter The Focus we introduce our Custom Accounting Solutions (CAS) service which was created to help businesses with back office accounting operations as extra support is needed now more than ever.  Also featured in this issue is an article that covers estate and gift tax planning opportunities.

There may be challenges ahead, but know that Dermody, Burke & Brown is here to serve you.

Regards,

Madelyn H. Hornstein, CPA, CEO
