Emily Discenza Earns CPA Credential

Emily Discenza, of Dermody, Burke & Brown, CPAs, LLC, has successfully completed the certification process to earn her designation as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Emily joined the firm in 2014 as an Associate in the Audit & Accounting Department.  She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Italian Studies from University of Rochester and her Master of Science Degree in Accounting from Syracuse University. She is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).  Emily is also a Planning Board member for Cortland County.

The CPA license is the accounting profession’s highest standard of competence, a symbol of achievement and assurance of quality.  To earn the prestige associated with the CPA license, one is required to demonstrate knowledge and competence by meeting high educational standards, passing the CPA exam and completing a specific amount of public accounting experience.
