Tax Filing Deadline Moved to July 15

March 20, 2020 - The federal government moved Tax Day from April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020, announced Friday morning by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.  All taxpayers and businesses will have additional time without interest or penalties to file and make payments.

The New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA) stated that the New York state tax deadline has also been postponed to match the federal extension.  They called on Governor Cuomo and the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance to postpone the New York state tax deadline and were notified that it had been passed. The New York state deadline will mirror the federal deadline of July 15 for all taxpayers and businesses.
