The concepts of tax reform and "tax simplification" are often debated, but have yet to be achieved. If anything, taxes are getting more complicated. Tax laws, and the courts' interpretation of those laws, change almost daily. That's why at Dermody, Burke & Brown (DB&B), we take a decidedly proactive approach to our tax practice. Our dedicated team of tax experts are constantly researching federal and state laws, and how they apply to each of our client's unique situations. Ultimately, our goal is not just to ensure full compliance, but also to help our clients take advantage of any changes that will minimize their tax liabilities.
We realize that even for the most sophisticated businessperson, the "jargon" of tax law and finance can be confusing. To ensure that our clients thoroughly comprehend their choices, we take the time to explain everything in simple, plain language. In order to give our clients the continuity they deserve, we assign a dedicated team to work with them, year after year. Our clients benefit from a DB&B team that truly knows their people, operations and business strategies. This in-depth knowledge allows us to be a resource for our clients throughout the year, not just at tax time. We have developed specialized expertise in a number of areas including family business, government, medical consulting and not-for-profits.
DB&B assists our clients throughout the entire business life cycle - from formation and choice of an appropriate entity, expansions and acquisitions, to succession planning and planning for transitions and sales. Should an unusual issue arise, DB&B's affiliation with Allinial Global allows our team to tap into the wealth of experience of other top tax practices throughout the world.
