Suzanne joined Dermody, Burke & Brown as a Controller. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Applications from State University of New York College at Brockport. Suzanne has over twenty years of administrative experience including human resources management, payroll, and executive administration. Suzanne resides in East Syracuse, New York.

As our Community Spotlight Series during Women's History Month comes to a close, Nancy Kern Eaton, President of the United Way CNY shared some thoughts about what this month means to her. Why is Women's History Month Important to You?

In keeping with this month's theme of spotlighting women in our community, we spoke with Laura Serway. Laura is a business development consultant, philanthropist and restaurateur, famous for her restaurant, Laci's Tapas Bar, which was located in the Hawley-Green neighborhood. What steps do you take to break the bias?

We are proud to be a firm operated and run by a women majority. Our women in leadership set us apart and make us stronger as a firm. In honor of International Women's Day on March 8th, our Partners had a few words to say about what it means to them to "Break the Bias" in the accounting industry.

Throughout Women's History Month, DB&B continues to spotlight women in our community who demonstrate how they break the bias. This week, we spoke to Alyson Berry. She is a Project Engineer for the New York Power Authority currently working towards receiving a PhD in Biomedical Engineering. 

What steps do you take to "break the bias" as a woman working in a male-dominated industry?
